Three Types of Friends

There are 3 types of friends that come into anyone's life: confidants, comrades, and constituents.

1. Confidants: They love you unconditionally. These are the friends that are for you. Whatever you're into, they're into. These are the people who you can trust and tell anything. You cry, they cry with you. You laugh, they laugh with you. Jump off a cliff, they jump with you. That's the closeness of a confidant. In the life of every christian, a confidant IS necessary. You can't be a David unless you find a Jonathan in your life. You will need that person who will motivate you when you need it, who gives you their 100% support, and who is able to scold you when you're wrong. If that person cannot find it within them self to tell u that u are wrong, they are NOT a confidant.

2. Constituents: These are the people that are not for you, but they are for what you are for. They work with you, team up with you, and labour with you but they aren't for u. Whatever you have that can benefit them, they will stick to you and use whatever it is you have to benefit them until someone comes with something better. When that happens, they leave you hanging. Persons often mistake their constituents for their confidants. You have to be careful in telling these persons your dreams. If you tell them your dreams, when they leave you, they will go and fulfill your dream without you. They were never entirely for you in the first place, so whether or not they hurt you doesn't really matter to them.

3. Comrades: These people are neither for you, nor are they for what you are for, but rather they are against what you are against. They team up with you to fight a greater enemy, but once victory is achieved they leave u. These kinds of friends are like scaffolding- They are there when the building is being built, but when they leave, the building remains standing. If they leave, you shouldn't be sad or depressed because these people were never for u in the first place.

Some persons that are placed in your life are only placed there for a season. Once their service time is up, they leave. Some come only to teach a lesson or to open up your eyes, then leave. The others (confidants) are those who God placed specially in you life to help you get through it. These persons help you to excel and are there for u every step of the way. If you manage to have at least 2 in your entire lifetime, then you are a very blessed person. Do you know who your confidant(s) is/are? Or are you mistaking comrades and constituents for them?
