Forsaken 
My heart broken 
My spirit is in despair
Still I'll praise God

Life is not at its best
No food on the table 
Bills are unpaid

Loved ones are dying
My heart is aching
It seems all hope is lost

School is a challenge
Due dates are close
The work load is much

No peace in the home
And everyone is at odds
Not able to get along
Still, I'll praise God

Friends abandoned me 
I'm lonely in the flesh 
And accompanied only in the spirit
Still, I'll praise God

Words are thrown at me
My character demeaned 
My virtue slandered
Still, I'll praise God

My mind is jumbled 
And I'm in confusion 
Not sure of what I'll become
Still, I'll praise God

My parents are bankrupt
All bills are high 
And the circumstance seems dark 
Still, I'll praise God 

In all my misfortunes
And times of disdain
His name is still exalted
